What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive experience leading large-scale software development organizations.
• Proven track record of managing engineering managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous hands-on software development experience and the ability to engage in technical discussions with engineering teams when needed.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and software development best practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and engineering delivery management.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
• Background in data-intensive systems, AI, machine learning, or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing engineering budgets, capacity planning, and organizational scaling.
• Passion for building high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive engineering culture.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in high-traffic consumer internet, marketplace, e-commerce, or platform businesses.
• Experience managing large-scale transformation, modernization, or organizational change initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Director to lead multiple engineering teams, shape engineering strategy, and support the delivery of scalable and reliable software systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for building high-performing engineering organizations, aligning technology initiatives with business goals, and enabling teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. We are looking for a technology leader who has built a strong software engineering foundation through hands-on development experience and can combine technical depth with organizational leadership to guide engineering teams, technology strategy, and business outcomes.

• Lead and develop multiple software engineering teams and engineering managers.
• Define and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with company objectives.
• Drive Agile delivery processes, sprint planning, prioritization, and execution.
• Oversee engineering capacity planning, budgeting, and resource management.
• Act as sahibinden.com's primary contact in Ankara for business continuity and disaster recovery readiness, ensuring alignment and preparedness across teams.
• Establish and monitor engineering KPIs and delivery performance.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
• Guide architectural decisions and ensure software quality, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, Infrastructure, and other business stakeholders.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate technology investments.
• Support innovation initiatives, R&D activities, and emerging technology adoption.
• Coach and mentor engineering leaders and team members to accelerate growth and engagement.
